( His expression brightens for just a moment before reason takes hold and he remembers that meeting vampires is not always a positive experience, particularly when one can tell that they are indeed vampires. He's wary, but still hopeful, when he asks: )
To...find a spot to sleep? [She says in a helpless sort of tone, as if Armand's reasoning was beyond her.]
I mean, I get it, y'all are vampires, whatever. But can't you get some blackout curtains or a cool coffin like in the movies? Sleeping inside a wall sounds uncomfortable. And if you're going to live forever why would you be uncomfortable?
I guess the stereotype had to come from somewhere. [She shakes her head] You vampires are so dramatic.
I'm sure you could get a comfortable coffin, somewhere? Maybe? A really plush tempur-pedic coffin. [The absurdity of it makes her crack a smile and she giggles, looking away to hide it.]
Right? It's really bothering me, actually...I haven't seen or felt a single ghost around here and anyone who dies just ends up on the train anyhow like nothing happened.
I don't know what the point is except to make this look like an actual town. [She shakes her head, a bit irritated]
Anyway, are you going to be okay with those other two around? I can hang a bunch of garlic around Armand's door if you want, or like...make some crosses.
( Louis is briefly troubled by the mention of death and its fleeting nature, but he shakes it off as best he can. He agrees with her that the graveyard is only for show, and he nods seriously.
But then she mentions garlic and Armand, and he nearly laughs. )
Ah... those are mere superstitions, I'm afraid, though I appreciate the concern for my safety. But thankfully, Armand is a friend to me, and I am certainly in no danger from Lestat.
( Does he sound a touch romantic when he says that? Well. )
[Miu makes a slight face--romance, yuck!!!-- but she nods]
Damn. Was really hoping to do someone in with some garlic bread. But I guess that's good? I dunno if you vampires can taste or eat regular food but I'd draw the line at not being able to eat garlic bread, personally.
[She trails off, pursing her lips as she considers that vision she'd seen--and Lestat's words when she'd mentioned it to him]
( Louis is going to say something about how he doesn't miss human food, but he still mourns the fact that he doesn't miss it— but her question catches him completely off his guard. )
Have you killed, or almost killed, Lestat a lot? [She repeats it without preamble, eyebrow raised.]
When I ran into him he mentioned how I recognized him and I told him I'd seen a vision of you killing him he said, [Here she adopts a very overly exaggerated lestat impression 'Well, it wouldn't be the first time, ma chérie.'
[She drops the impression and shrugs] It doesn't really matter to me either way, I'm just curious. I thought you guys were enemies or something, but you seem really fond of each other.
[So their Facebook relationship status is permanently stuck on 'It's Complicated,' she sees...]
Huh... That's...Unhealthy. [Not that she'd know from any sort of experience. She's not a romance person, she just occasionally plays one on TV.]
But hey, whatever, it's your life. Or un-life. You've got a billion years to make just as many mistakes as you want. [She's at least half-joking. She doesn't dislike Lestat, he's just very... Much.
he's Much.]
Both your friends seem pretty protective of you. Just make sure they know I'm a friend, not food.
( It's touching that she's so concerned for him. If Louis had more of an ego, he might wonder what sort of impression he's given this girl. )
An eternity to make mistakes means an eternity to forgive each other. We spent a century apart... we each believed the other dead and gone. We had ample time and opportunity to reflect upon our regrets. I hope we've grown enough that we would not make the same mistakes again... though of course there is every chance that we will make entirely new ones.

[There's a pause as she debates on if this is something she should say over video or not before she changes it to video]
Well, I'm not gonna beat around the bush. I ran into some people from your world recently. Some other vampires.

I hope you were treated respectfully?

Yeah, it was fine. Lestat's funny. The other guy's.... [She trails off, making a face]
He's not going to wake me up in the middle of the night knocking down his walls every night, is he?
no subject
I don't know. I suppose that depends upon why he was knocking down walls?
( But that's definitely something Armand would do. )

( That last question is what other vampires have been asking him for his whole immortal life, and he's no closer to an answer now. )
Most of us do sleep in coffins, you know. That part isn't a myth... though I wouldn't call it comfortable, either.

It would be strange to have a coffin shop in a place where no one stays dead, wouldn't it? But then, it's stranger that the buried ones are empty.

I'm sorry, what?

We've been many things to each other. Lestat is the vampire who made me. For a long time, I believed I hated him... Now I only want to be near him.
( He goes quiet for a moment, lost in thought, then shakes his head as if clearing it. )
To say that I tried to kill him is too simple, but there is enough truth to it. It's telling that he didn't seem surprised.

You're safe from them, I promise you this.
