Louis de Pointe du Lac
AGE.
25 physically / 200+ in present day.
DOB.
October 4, 1766. Libra.
HAIR.
Black, wavy, collar length.
EYES.
Green.
HEIGHT.
5'11".
BUILD.
Slender.
first impressions Louis is a striking young man with delicate, expressive features and the perpetually troubled look of a philosopher. He has piercing green eyes, tousled hair, and an unnaturally pale cast to his skin that tends to draw the eye to his other, more inhuman qualities — the fangs, for example, and the fact that he's always just a little bit too still. He's tall and slender, almost gaunt, but carries himself unobtrusively; it's clear that he doesn't enjoy being the center of attention. Still, despite his reserved and often cautious manner, Louis is compassionate and curious and eager for intellectual conversation. If you let him talk for long enough, he just might tell you his life story.

VOICE.
Soft, polite, and well-spoken; a pleasant if unremarkable high baritone. His English is American-accented, with a hint of French that can be difficult to place. He's done a lot of traveling.

DRESS.
Favors dark clothing: mainly black, occasionally green. Generally dressed in an old-fashioned but comfortable style: sweaters, collared shirts, and long coats, a little like an accidentally handsome librarian. T-shirts and dark jeans now and then if he's feeling comfortable. Wears a silver ring with an onyx stone on the pointer finger of his right hand.

SCENT.
Notably, absolutely none. He might smell a bit of wherever he's been, and a little of old books and dust, but vampires have no scent of their own.

PSYCHIC.
His thoughts are generally an open book. Louis cannot read minds on his own, nor can he always tell when someone else is in his head.
public knowledge VAMPIRE. Louis' vampirism is public knowledge, though it isn't the first thing he tells someone upon meeting them.

RELATIONSHIP. Louis and Lestat are lovers, and neither of them is shy about this. Feel free to assume they've been seen together, romantically or otherwise.

NOCTURNAL. This boy is only awake at night.
powers SKILLS/ABILITIES. Louis is a vampire, albeit a relatively weak one. He shies away from exploring his powers, so even he isn't certain how much of his weakness is innate and how much is by choice.
→ His physical abilities are several times greater than that of a human. His speed, strength, and reflexes are enough to break iron chains, scale buildings, and make easy prey of a healthy adult man, but they're nothing compared to what a vampire of his age should be capable of.
→ He is immortal, which in this case means that he will never age, and can heal from nearly any injury with enough time and blood. He can't regrow limbs, but he could reattach one if he had help. (See Weaknesses below for more.) Vampire blood can also heal some human injuries — this is how they hide the evidence of their bites.
→ Louis cannot read minds or hear thoughts like most vampires, but his heightened senses (and natural attunement to humans as prey) make him very emotionally perceptive. He can spellbind others, but only accidentally, and only to the point of very brief infatuation. He doesn't enjoy it. (This would be opt-in and plotted, of course!)
→ Technically Louis can create other vampires (the process is much more complicated than just a bite) but Louis regrets the experience so much that he would rather die than do it again, so it's incredibly unlikely to come up.

NERFING.
→ His strength still exceeds that of a human, but it's lessened; he's no longer able to easily break iron chains with his hands or anything like that. For example, he could lift a car enough to help someone stuck under it, but couldn't actually pick it up.
→ His senses are still more acute than a human's would be, but dulled — comparable to a cat in his sense of smell and hearing.
→ His healing is much slower than he's used to. Minor injuries like cuts and bruises will heal overnight instead of instantly; more significant ones, such as knife wounds or broken limbs, could take days to weeks to fully heal. All healing will require a steady diet of blood.

WEAKNESSES.
→ Vampires fall into the "death sleep" from dawn to dusk, a catatonic state from which they cannot be awakened. They will instinctively burrow into the nearest dark place they can find, and their bodies will reflexively defend themselves if someone stumbles upon their hiding place.
→ Fire and sunlight will both reduce vampires to ashes.
→ Complete destruction of the brain or heart would also be fatal for Louis.
